One person was killed early Monday morning in a two vehicle accident on Interstate 40 in Catawba County. The accident happened near Rock Bark Road around 3:45 am. I-40 East bound was closed for several hours Monday morning while the accident scene was cleared. The identify of the person killed had not been released as of Monday afternoon.
